New Look 6119

New Look 6119 I love this dress.  It was so simple to make and can be worn with or without a belt.  I purchased this silky leopard print at A Fabric Place.  The pattern instructions were very straightforward.  I plan to make the shorter version as well!

Graduation

This is my first GD Naija!  She graduated from middle school today! It seems like yesterday that she was born! She is wearing McCalls 6027 view A.  I used a silky solid peach with cut outs from Joann's.  I underlined the dress with a peach satin from Walmart.  I also used the satin for the godets and piping.  The dress fabric worked well with the peach underlining, it was just the right amount of pop!  The pictures don't capture it. :(  I was very pleased with the finished product.  The pattern was very simple and the directions were straightforward.  I omitted the partial lining since I underlined the entire dress.  I used a size 12/14 with minor adjustments.  That girl has the "Jones" boobs!!!!  LOL

Congrats to the Class of 2013!!!!

Easy apron!

For a church basket bingo my group (Catholic Daughters of the Americas) decided to do a kitchen themed basket. Here's my contribution!  Main fabric from Joanns clearance table & the accent is a quilt cotton from Joanns.  I used the tutorial from "She Can Sew."

The Grand Finale

Well this is the last prom gown of the season.  This is my niece, Brianna.  She looks like a million bucks in the Kelly Rowland knock off gown.  I used a black knit from Metro Textiles for the gown.  The sheer mesh inserts are from Vogue Fabrics.

Still busy sewing...

I've been busy with Prom dress #3 and finally finished today.  The prom is this Friday so I'll hold off on posting until then!

I have Vogue 1091 all cut out and plan to sew it up this weekend.  I'm using a black knit that I picked up at Metro Textiles.

My first GD is graduating from middle school and has chosen Simplicity 1666 (view A) to wear to the graduation, she like the color peach.  We're going to look for fabric on Saturday!  Simplicity patterns go on sale Friday at Joann's so that will be our first stop.  I'm hoping A Fabric Place will have a peach fabric suitable for the dress.  My step daughter wants a personalized pillow case dress for my 3 yr old granddaughter's birthday, June 3....so I know what I'll be doing over the Memorial Day weekend.

Until next time....
